My Idea Grants launched to recognize and support young people and their projects to increase graduation rates

America's Promise Alliance and AT&T are looking for the energy, enthusiasm, creativity and commitment to help make this country a Grad Nation through the My Idea grants program. "My Idea" will empower young people to examine the high school dropout crisis and take action to help more of their peers to graduate on time - improving outcomes for themselves and their community. National grants of $10,000-$20,000 will be awarded to 20 - 25 youth for the best of the submitted ideas to help increase a community's graduation rate anywhere in the United States. Additional opportunities are available for young people living in Chicago, Houston, Indianapolis, Jackson, Louisville, Nashville, New York, New Orleans, Oakland, and Washington, D.C with grants of $500-$1500 to support targeted local projects.
What to Expect:
- You will be asked to complete an America’s Promise Alliance web site registration if you don’t already have one.
- Then you will Login and complete the Getting Started checklist to start the application.
- Once you start your application, you will receive an email with contact information for further assistance.
- Please complete all sections of the application. You can save your application as a draft and return to it.
- When you have completed your application, click Submit Application. You will receive an email to let you know that we have received your application. Once you submit the Application, you will no longer be able to edit it.
- Your application will be reviewed by a grant panel.
- You will be contacted by the grant panel when they have decided whether or not your project will be funded.
Habitat for Humanity State Farm Service-Learning Partnership Grants
Deadline: May 15
Service-Learning Partnership grants provide funds for teachers and schools to develop and implement service-learning projects in partnership with their local Habitat affiliate. For the 20010–2011 school year, teachers and local Habitat affiliates can jointly apply for a one-year grant of up to $7,000 to cover educational expenses associated with the service-learning project.

Learn and Serve America Higher Education Grants
Deadline: March 9
Subject to the availability of appropriations for fiscal year 2010, the Corporation for National and Community Service (the Corporation) announces the anticipated availability of approximately $7.3 million to award new Learn and Serve America Higher Education grants. Grants will be awarded to an estimated seven to nine individual institutions ranging from approximately $85,000 to $200,000 annually for a project period of up to three years, and an estimated seven to eleven consortia ranging from approximately $200,000 to $500,000 for a project period up to three years. The purpose of the Learn and Serve America Higher Education program is to support institutions of higher education that use innovative service-learning programming to meet the needs of local communities.

Pepsi Refresh Project
Pepsi is looking for people, businesses, and non-profits with ideas that will have a positive impact. Look around your community and think about how you want to change it. Pepsi is accepting 1000 ideas every month. Applications will be accepted from the 1st through the 15th, or until we receive 1,000 ideas, whichever comes first. The February application period has closed, but you can begin preparing to submit beginning March 1.
Do Something Seed Grants

Are you working to start a community action project or program? Do you need money to put your ideas into action? If you answered, “YES!”, you are eligible to apply for a Do Something Seed Grant. Do Something gives out a $500 Do Something Seed Grant every week to help young people just like YOU! Do Something Seed Grants are targeted towards project ideas and programs that are just getting started. These grants can be used to jump-start your program or to realize your ideas for the first time. These are grants for all types of community action projects around causes that you care about and are important in your community! You will be notified whether or not you have won within 2-3 months after submission.
Do Something Growth Grants
Deadline: Ongoing
Did you create a sustainable community action project, program or organization that you want to grow? Are you looking for funding to take your already successful project to the next level? If you answered “YES!”, you are eligible to apply for a Do Something Growth Grant. Do Something gives out a $500 Do Something Growth Grant every week to help young people just like YOU! Do Something Growth Grants are targeted towards projects that are already developed and sustainable. These grants go towards the next steps of your project and organization to help you as you look to expand your project and grow your impact. You will be notified whether or not you have won within 2-3 months after submission.
