Campus Grants

Service Learning Texas is pleased to announce the following recipients of Service-Learning Campus Grants for 2010-2011:

Pittsburg Elementary School

Pittsburg ISD

Students will help meet a wide variety of social needs and promote local heritage and community pride in concert with the Northeast Texas Rural Heritage Museum, the Camp County Chamber of Commerce, Camp County 4-H, and the Camp County Child Protective Services Board.

Sloan Creek Middle School

Lovejoy ISD

Through partnerships with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary, and the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center, students will expand their efforts to maintain and improve the stewardship of Lake Lavon, the primary water source for most residents of Collin County.

Wylie Elementary School

Abilene

Students will work with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the Abilene Environmental Recycling Center to create an outdoor classroom and with Dyess Air Force Base to provide support to families of service men and women who are deployed overseas.
