Flour Bluff Students Help Build a Nature Trail
Students from Ms. Dukarm's class at the Intermediate School are helping to restore the local Wetlands by building a nature trail. Ms. Dukarm received a Service Learning Grant made possible by a donation from Encana Oil and Gas (USA), Inc., to the Texas Parks and Wildlife to help supply the resources needed. They also received assistance from the Botanical Gardens and Coastal Bend Bays and Estuaries in planning and preparing the project. A big component of the grant is to educate citizens on the importance of sensitive habitats. Students are removing invasive plants and will also put out markers identifying various plants at the Wetlands.
